A few years back, around the time he released not one, but two, albums comprised entirely of traditional folk and blues tunes, Bobby said he no longer wished to write songs because there were so many incredible songs out there already - many of which the masses were not even familiar with. 3 stars A good idea unrealized
Given the artwork used and songs selected, I assumed the target market for this CD would be Baby Boomers already familiar with the songs, but intrigued at the prospect of seeing them reinterpreted by younger artists. Overall, the CD is OK, but nothing special. In most cases, the interpretations were just covers of the originals, and the instrumental backings were similar if not identical. The CD is pleasant enough, and any CD with a Tom Rush clasic is automatically above average. However, while …
