Overview Edit

Say It Like You Mean It is the first full-length album from pop punk band The Starting Line, following their debut EP With Hopes of Starting Over. It was released on July 16, 2002 on Drive-Thru Records. The album itself has stood the test of time amongst fans.

An alternate pressing of the album was issued simultaneously and available only from Drive-Thru's online store, with the cover picturing Jamison Covington of JamisonParker, instead of the girl on the cover of the conventional release. This limited edition is now out-of-print and rather hard to come by.

There was also a Tri-Fold, Limited Edition, Colored Vinyl release (DTR#32V). This is extremely rare and hard to find. Only 1000 copies were pressed.

The Best of Me was also released on vinyl as a 45RPM single, also extremely rare. The amount of copies pressed are unknown.

5 stars Unstoppable
This CD is just plain amazing. Normally I can't stand listening to the same CD for very long, but I've been listening to this nonstop since I got it. The beat is catchy and upbeat and the music is great. The song lyrics are fun and yet have a good story behind them. The Starting Line has more drive than many bands in the genre and the high-quality sound that should take them far. You can tell they mean what they say on this album!

1, "Up and Go" is a great song with interesting layers of vocals …

"say it like you mean it" is a good cd, but not a great one. i bought this cd because of the band's association with DriveThru Records, which i had good times with bands such as Finch, Midtown, Something Corporate, and New Found Glory. the first fews songs on "say it like you mean it" are pretty good, then the rest were rather bland as i kept wishing the cd would end. another thing is that this band sounds like something in between of new found glory and blink 182, so don't expect anything too o…
