The Queen Is Dead is the third studio album by the English rock band The Smiths. It was released on 16 June 1986 in the United Kingdom by Rough Trade Records and released in the United States on 23 June 1986 through Sire Records. The album reached number two on the UK album chart, maintaining a chart residency for 22 weeks, number 70 on the Billboard 200, and was certified Gold by the RIAA in late 1990. It has sold consistently well ever since.

A great way to introduce the Smiths...

One easy way to make a Smiths fan is to give them The Queen is Dead. It's a pop masterpiece that works as a collection of singles as well as a unified album. There are plenty of Smiths singles collections out there, but in my view they seem somewhat "random" in their cohesiveness. Not so with The Queen is Dead; it's simply one of the greatest albums of all time.

Good smiths album but I guess not good enough for Itunes,Its classic Morrisey but good enough to have in a collection!!!
