Vintage JayDeeAs i read it, someone had an old beat cd and after JayDee passed, dude gave it to Illa j. Why Dilla didnt put this out himself i dont know..but he should have cause this cd bangs! As far as the lyrical tip goes...illa j isnt the best rhymesayer, so dont buy it expecting to hear witty punchlines and metaphors cause you wont. He tries but...lol, fails miserably. I do recommend buying it just to hear the beats tho.
It should be....but it's not!I was one of the dudes rooting for Illa J when everyone was giving him flack for riding his big bro's coat tails.To get straight to the heart of things - Illa J is an below to average mcee with little subject matter. What's worse is he fancies himself as a singer which is worse then his rapping. I gave an extra star because of the "memory lane" Dilla beats which are nice to hear but after the third tracks Illa J makes it a little hard to bare completing the album.
