112 are a four piece hip-hop group from Atlanta. They were the good boys on the Bad Boy label and unlike their labelmates, they mixed in soul and gospel with their music. Their first single, “Only You” featuring The Notorious B.I.G., was a Top 20 in both the Pop and R&B charts and helped their self-titled debut to platinum sales. After two multi- platinum follow-ups, they moved to Def Soul for Hot & Wet. However the album was more the latter than the former, and they had to drop the good boy image for more platinum success. A collaboration with Southern rappers Three 6 Mafia gave 112 their first Parental Advisory sticker, stuck to the front of the Pleasure & Pain album. Fans were unabashed however, and the album saw the band back on track with a Top 5 chart debut. They are currently working on an album of covers, due for release in 2008.
