6 Day Riot is a London-based band formed in 2005 featuring Tamara Schlesinger (vocals, ukulele, guitar), Daniel Deavin (drums), Caspar Riis (guitar), Edd Harwood (upright bass) and Sophie Loyer (violin, accordion, saw). 6 Day Riot have an individual, eclectic sound, taking on influences from folk and pop music. Their first EP, "Maybe", was released in July 2006 and in May 2007 they released their début album "Folie à Deux" on Hubris Records.
After line-up changes in the band 6 Day Riot went on to perform at North by Northeast 2008, debuting a new EP Bring On The Waves, featuring songs written for the festival, including the single 'Go! Canada'. Their EP and single were released on Tantrum Records, their own label.
In 2009 the band played at various festivals across the UK including Glastonbury and Green Man Festivals as well as their own UK tour alongside Gideon Conn.
Their new album 6 Day Riot Have A Plan was released on 6th July 2009 on Tantrum Records, featuring new single Run For Your Life.
The band were named as one of the top 10 "pop picks of 2009" by Pete Paphides at the Times and their latest single has received National radio play on Radio 2, 6 music, XFM and Radio 1.
The band ended 2009 with a support slot with Seth Lakeman across the UK and they are currently writing their new album before heading out on tour again in 2010 and getting ready to release album number 3.
Tracks from 6 Day Riot's 'Have A Plan' album are also due to be featured on series 4 of Skins.
