Formed in Hollywood in 1979, 707 boasted three natives of Detroit: Jim McClarty, Kevin Russell, and Phil Bryant. With the addition of Duke McFadden a Southern California native on keyboards and lead vocals as well as being a songwriter, to the band, they recorded their first album for Casablanca, entitled "707" They soon became a sought after opening act for tours with REO Speedwagon and Ted Nugent. By their third album, The Bridge, Tod Howarth had joined the line-up. Inventive and creative, this hard rocking band continued touring and recording until 1982. Duke McFadden left the band and signed a solo contract to record his own albums after the release of 707's first album.
