Overview Edit

"Fernando" was ABBA's fourth international smash. The track was originally from a 1975 Swedish language solo album by ABBA member Frida. The group felt as though the song had potential, so they recorded it with new English lyrics for release as an ABBA song. It was a smart decision. "Fernando" hit #1 in no less than twelve countries, making it ABBA's biggest hit yet. In Australia, ABBA Fever (as it was now being called) was out of control. "Fernando" beat out The Beatles' "Hey Jude" as the longest running #1 single in chart history.
