Overview Edit

Friends of Mine is the second solo album by Anti-Folk musician Adam Green, released in 2003. It relies heavily on short violin-driven melodramatic pop songs and has a much more polished sound than his 2002 debut Garfield. Green's voice is significantly different from any of his previous work, including that of The Moldy Peaches, putting on a deeper '60s influenced spin than ever before.

4 stars Never gets old
I have to say...I liked this slightly more than Adam's first solo record, "Garfield". This recording is less low-fi than the previous album which takes away from the kitschy, intimate vibe "Garfield" gave out, but this is a great album nonetheless. Songs like Bluebirds, Hard To Be A Girl and Jessica bring back the same chilled out mood as in the first solo album and never depart from Adam's well known crazy shtick. 3 stars Blue Birds are so natural
Very simple but catchy stuff. Recorded in a studio so it has a higher fidelity than his first solo album and work with the Moldy Peaches. Worth owning, but I took 2 stars off because some of the filler on this album isn't too happening.
