Overview Edit

Moon Safari is the first full-length studio album by the French band Air, released in 1998. The album is considered a classic of the chillout genre. It is noted in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. It scored hits with the tracks "Sexy Boy", "Kelly Watch the Stars!" and "All I Need" (which features vocals by Beth Hirsch). Moon Safari debuted at number six in the UK album charts mainly due to almost universally glowing reviews by the British music press and the success of the single "Sexy Boy".

On April 14, 2008 Virgin Records released a reissue of Moon Safari to mark the album's 10-year anniversary. The limited edition album came with a bound book, a DVD documentary about the duo and an extra CD with live performances and remixes.

5 stars One of my favorite ambient music albums of all time.
I heard a bunch of wonderful things about Air through the musical grapevine and in reviews such as this one, it wasn't until I bought the CD and listened that two things were confirmed:

1. This is among the best ambient music CD's of our time; and

2. I'd been listening to this CD for years.

As it turns out, the owner of a local lounge (Blue Agave in Santa Barbara CA.) has had it on rotation for the last few years. I'd been intoxicated (literally and figuratively) to (and by) this music for quite…

3 stars Busting out with 70's Moogy synth rifs
Fun, if a bit goofy and heavy on the Moog synthesizer sound reminisent of the 70's. Talkie Walkie seems more sophisticated, with tastier basslines.
