Overview Edit

School's Out is an album released by Alice Cooper in 1972. The album's title track has remained a staple song in Alice Cooper's live setlist and receives regular airplay on many "Classic Rock" radio stations.

The original album cover (designed by Craig Braun) had the sleeve opening in the manner of an old school desk. The vinyl record inside was wrapped in a pair of girl's panties. This original issue was recalled because the panties were not flame-retardant. The album was remastered in 2009 for Audio Fidelity by Steve Hoffman in HDCD.

5 stars My second favorite Alice Cooper album, and yet Rhino hasn't even touched it yet while I wait for a remastered version
I truly appreciate that Rhino Records re-released and remastered Alice Cooper's "Billion Dollar Babies" and "Welcome To My Nightmare" which included bonus tracks and more.

Rhino's 4 CD box set was rather a disappointment because they chopped up or only gave us "single" versions of many of his tracks. So when I saw "Welcome To My Nightmare" come out re-released and remastered from Rhino, I was hoping that Rhino would re-release and remaster Alice Cooper's entire catalog.

At least, Rhino should …

2 stars "Audiophile" Gold CD Flunks Sound Quality Test!
Don't get me wrong, this classic Alice Cooper album is worth 5 stars in my book, but this gold CD offers no improvement in sound quality over the unremastered one (which you can buy dirt-cheap ANYWHERE!).It's still sounds thin and muddy, nowhere near as good as the Billion Dollar Babiesand the Welcome to My Nightmare remastered reissues Rhino put out a few years back.Save your money and buy/keep the old one!
