Ambrosia is a band best known for their easy listening radio melodies of the 1970s ("How Much I Feel", Biggest Part of Me" and "Nice, Nice, Very Nice"), but whose material covers a broader spectrum of music than is represented by those slick tunes and shows evidence of influences from prog masters including Yes and King Crimson.
Their first eponymous album was released in 1975 and showed evidence of Ambrosia's connection with Alan Parsons, who engineered their first album and produced their second, Somewhere I've Never Traveled. Their 1978 album, Life Beyond LA moved away from the musical style of their earlier albums and it was a significant commercial success for them. Their next album continued their run of success, but their fifth, Road Island (1982) was another change of direction; this time neither the fans nor the critics came along for the ride and the album failed to achieve the same measure of success. The band split shortly after.
They reunited in 1989 and began to tour, but no further album of fresh material has ever been released.
