Brazilian DJ and Producer Amon Tobin is known for his brand of jazz-influenced IDM ("intelligent dance music"), which also takes in influences from hip-hop, drum'n'bass, breakbeat and samba music.
After moving to the UK he released an album under the name Cujo, called Adventures In Foam (1996). Signing to Ninja Tune, he has since released seven more albums under his own name. The first, Bricolage (1997), is often considered his best, although some critics consider Permutation (1998) and Supermodified (2000) to be equal or even better. In 2005 he recorded an album as a soundtrack to a computer game: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. He followed that up with The Foley Room, which was greeted with more warm reviews in 2007.
