Amy Grant is an American singer-songwriter born in 1960. The main thrust of her musical style is toward the Christian pop genre and the majority of her early success was in the US Christian charts. She was only 17 when her first eponymous album was released and she followed it with a relentless release schedule which increased her profile within the Christian market.

After two more albums she achieved a breakthrough with the platinum-selling Age to Age album and she began to seek mainstream crossover in earnest. "Baby Baby" (from her best selling album Heart In Motion) found that success, hitting the No.1 spot in the US charts and achieving chart positions in other countries. Though some of her Christian audience feared that she had sold out, many remained faithful. Since then her output has straddled the mainstream Billboard and Christian markets, with her releases hitting various spots on both charts.
