Strawberry Jam is the seventh studio album by Baltimore based band Animal Collective. It was released on September 11, 2007 The press response to Strawberry Jam was mostly positive, with some lauding its unique sound as a large step forward in the band's evolution. The album charted on the Billboard Top 200, debuting and peaking at #72.

Strawberry Jam was released on iTunes with an exclusive live version of "Cuckoo Cuckoo" , the video for "Peacebone", and a digital reproduction of the album's booklet.

5 stars Another Masterpiece!
Animal Collective are my favorite band, so my opinion was a bit skewed from the start, but hearing these songs evolve from their original live versions has been a real treat. Immediatly after hearing "Fireworks," I knew it was my new favorite song of theirs and the Studio version on "Strawberry Jam" is almost as good. This album is filled with such beautiful melodies, creative sounds and recording techniques and vocal delivery. "Reverend Green" is amazingly catchy and driving. "Winter WonderLand…

2 stars Suffering from Identity Problems
Upon first listen to this album in the record store, I thought it had some potential. I listen to a lot of experimental music, and it seemed to have a lot of background sounds and combinations that were very intriguing.

However, upon further listen, I have not been able to grasp the combination of experimental sounds with poppy vocals.

While I respect the fact that they are pursuing this combination, I don't think the two mesh very well together.

I think this one is more for the pop listeners…
