Biography

Edit

Ayla Brown is the multi-talented young woman best known as a semi-finalist of American Idol and the daughter of Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown.

Ayla was a precociously talented basketball player as a teenager, which earned her a full athletic scholarship at Boston College. She is currently a forward for the women's basketball team Boston College Eagles, in her final year.

In August 2005, at the age of 17, Ayla auditioned on American Idol with a rendition of the Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell duet "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." She earned progression to the Hollywood stages, where she won through two further rounds with performances of "Reflection" (Christina Aguilera) and "I Want You To Need Me" (Celine Dion).

However, at the semi-final stage, with only seven other women left in the contest, Ayla was eliminated. She went on to perform at lots of local events and released an album, Forward.

After focusing on her college basketball career, she has now returned to the studio for second album Circles, due in April 2010.
