Biography

Edit

Better Than Ezra is an American alt-rock band formed while the founder members were attending University in 1987. The promising future of the group stuttered when the original bassist Joel Rundell committed suicide in 1990 but by 1993 they had released Deluxe which led to clamorous efforts to sign them. Deluxe was re-issued two years later, after they had signed with Elektra and went on to spawn a solid radio hit with the track "Good" and platinum sales.

Subsequent studio albums, including Friction, Baby (1996) and How Does Your Garden Grow? (1998), failed to perform as well and the band and their record label separated. Though they failed to replicate their early successes, the band has a loyal fanbase and they continue to tour and release new material. More recently they resurfaced on the mainstream radar when the track "Juicy", from their 2005 album, Before the Robots, was used in the television series Desperate Housewives.
