Zoe Kaylor, better known as the performance artist Betty X, is an American art rock and industrial metal singer and songwriter, as well as a conceptual and expressionist artist. She was born and raised in Seattle, of Irish and Cherokee heritage. Audiences and reviewers often describe her work as caustic and controversial.
She is best known for mixing performance art and video installations with her live performances. She is also well known in the underground art/music scene for her guerrilla art and outrageous on-stage antics, particularly with her first project, Salon Betty. She is currently is releasing socio-political videos on her new video company Brave New Video.
