Rapper, actor and producer Bow Wow was born in Ohio in 1987. He was taken under the wings of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at the age of six, when he came to their attention as they were touring The Chronic. He had been performing as Kid Gangsta but was renamed Lil' Bow Wow by Dre before he released any albums, and by his third album he had dropped the 'Lil'.

His debut, Beware of Dog, released when he was 13, received strong reviews. Coupled with collaborations from Snoop Dogg and Jagged Edge it went to triple platinum status, his best-selling to date. The follow-up went double platinum, while subsequent releases sold to at least gold. He has worked with a long list of artists including Amerie, Omarion and R. Kelly.

In addition to his music career, Bow Wow has also acted in the film The Fast and the Furious, and starred in Roll Bounce.
