Biography
EditBrandi Carlile is an American singer-songwriter who crosses genres with her uniquely hued music - from pop-rock to alt country to folk.
Carlile has been recording and releasing music since 2000, beginning with the Room for Me EP. She self-released four full-length albums but it wasn't until she was picked up by Columbia Records in late 2004 that she began to get recognised by a broader audience. With Columbia she released Brandi Carlile in 2005, a mixture of tracks from her earlier albums with a few new tracks added, that was well received by critics but didn't sell particularly well. Most recently, she released The Story, which was also met with good reviews while only peaking at No. 58 on the Billboard album chart.
