Bratz

Ostensibly, Bratz are dolls, created as a hipper, edgier rival to Mattel's Barbie in 2001, but more recently the brand has been expanded to incorporate film, game and musical options.

The musical interpretation of the Bratz theme started in 2005 when Bratz: Rock Angelz was released. The album was intended to represent the output of the 'band' consisting of the five Bratz dolls, Roxxi, Cloe, Jade, Yasmin and Sasha. In reality, the album was recorded by various artists and it peaked at No.79 on the Billboard 200 and the single "So Good" charted in the US and the UK.

Bratz: Genie Magic (2006), Bratz: Forever Diamondz (2006) and Bratz: Fashion Pixiez (2007) featured songs from the DVD movies of the same name. Many of the songs from the albums were written by Matthew Gerrard who also worked on the No.1 High School Musical album. The most recent release is 2007's Bratz: Motion Picture Soundtrack.
