Overview Edit

Britney is the third studio album by American pop singer Britney Spears. The album was released in November 6, 2001 by Jive Records. Britney is notable for Spears' increasingly prominent role in the production, and being the transition album away from her bubblegum pop sound and teen pop image from her previous two albums, and leaned increasingly toward more R&B, Hip hop, and sexual influences. Although the album's singles were slightly less successful than her album's previews singles Spears assumed some creative control by co-writing five of the album's tracks. The uneasy transactional music styles for the album Britney garned it at the number one position in the Billboard 200, in which gave the Jive label its eleventh chart-topping album. This also made Spears the first female artist to have her first 3 albums to open at the number-one position. The album became 2001's most successful debut by a female or female group artist, trumping Destiny's Child's Survivor and Janet Jackson's All For You. The album's success made her the first female artist in music history to have her first three studio albums to debut at the number one spot.

5 stars Best CD of Britney's ever
I am a Britney fan and I am proud of it. For all those people out there who hasn't bought this cd and said its horrible, you are wrong. I have all 3 cds and this is the best. She has grown up and if you are to ignorant to read what I have to say, you shouldn't be looking Britney's new cd. Here is what I think of each song:

1. I'm a Slave 4 You ~ A+ I like this song. It doesn't me anytihng bad at all. Its saying she's growing up and people can't see that...

2. Overprotected ~ A this is song is pr…

3 stars My honest opinion
Britney's new album is just a tad bit old.. Okay I have agreed with people before, but this is where I have to draw the line.. Despite the first single "I'm A Slave 4 U", the rest of the album goes back in time to "Baby One More Time" and "Oops I Did It Again". Maybe it's the old cliche of the Max Martin/Rami production team. Not to put down their work, I am sure they are talented and they have come out with some good songs, but the style is becoming boring. Anyone on the planet can identify tha…
