Bryan Adams is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter best known for the massive hits "Run To You", "Summer of '69", and "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You". He performs with a regular band line-up consisting of Keith Scott, Mickey Curry, Gary Breit and Norm Fisher.
His music career began when he dropped out of school at 15 and started to play in local bands including Sweeney Todd, on whose album If Wishes Were Horses (1977) Adams appeared as lead singer. A chance meeting with Jim Vallance led to a songwriting partnership which continues to the present day. He was signed to A&M Records on the strength of early demos and by 1980 he had released his debut album Bryan Adams. It was not until his third album, Cuts Like A Knife (1983), that Adams found fame; the album produced four hit singles and reached No.8 on the Billboard chart. He consolidated the success with Reckless in 1984 which spawned six hit singles including “Run To You” and “Summer of ‘69”. The album has since been certified with multi-platinum status.
The run of successful albums continued with Into the Fire (1987). Then, in 1991 Waking up the Neighbours produced the Grammy Award-winning single “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”; a song which sat in the top reaches of charts across the world for months. The successful albums continued and a new album 11, his eleventh studio outing, was released in 2008.
