Bryan Ferry Working With Members Of Radiohead, RHCP, Chic

Nov, 24 2009

Bryan Ferry has re-entered the studio to record a new album, which he hopes will be released in summer 2010. It'll be his first record since 2007's Bob Dylan-tribute Dylanesque, and his first album of new material since April 2002's Frantic. According to Rolling Stone magazine, the former Roxy Music frontman is working with Radiohead's guitarist Jonny Greenwood, Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea, and noted disco producer Nile Rodgers, who began his career as Chic's guitarist. Rodgers has said recently that his band was strongly influenced by Roxy Music's glamorous image, with Ferry always appearing sharp-suited and with beautiful women in tow. There's no word yet on whether this affects the mooted new Roxy Music album, which has apparently been in development for a couple of years. Meanwhile, a new Bryan Ferry compilation appeared in stores this week: The Best of Bryan Ferry includes 19 singles and two previously unreleased songs, including a cover of The Drifters' rarity "I Don't Want To Go On Without You."
