Biography

Edit

Bullet for My Valentine is a British metalcore band formed in 1998 under the original name Jeff Killed John. The current members are Matthew Tuck, Michael Paget, Jason James and Michael Thomas.

Though they had started by playing Nirvana and Metallica songs in a backlash against the prevalent nu-metal sound of the time, they agreed to change their style, and their name, just as they set about recording their first demos. As they began to play well received gigs they were courted by record labels and finally decided to sign with Sony.

Their first release was the Bullet for My Valentine EP in 2004. They followed that with a second EP Hand of Blood in 2005, though it was only available in America. Later that year they released their debut full length studio album, The Poison and, while the critics weren't particularly warm about it, it performed fairly well commercially. The band embarked on a tour in support of the album.

A new album Scream, Aim, Fire was released in 2008 and debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 charts.
