South London-based dubstep producer Burial released his first album, Burial, in 2006 to great critical acclaim in the British alternative press. His second album Untrue proved a minor breakthrough for dubstep, earning plaudits from music reviewers across the world. It is believed to be the biggest-selling dubstep record ever, and acted as an introduction to dubstep for many music fans. Despite this, many dubstep fans point out that Untrue sounds quite different from most other records of the genre, being more atmospheric and less dancefloor-oriented. Untrue was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize 2008, and was the favourite to win for some bookmakers. However, Elbow scooped the prize instead.
