Carly Simon is the US-born award- winning singer-songwriter, best known for her 1973 hit “You're So Vain”. It was one of a long list of tracks which earned her a place in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Starting with "That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be" way back in 1971, Carly Simon cracked open pop music's plastic shell, pulled out piles of fluff, and poured sensitivity, grace, and an unparalleled open-heartedness in its place. After several gold-selling albums in the 70s and a clutch of Top 40 hits (including chart-topping mystery "You're So Vain"), she landed the job of singing the theme to The Spy Who Loved Me; "Nobody Does It Better" became one of the most memorable James Bond themes ever. In the late 70s and 80s she continued to churn out gold and platinum-selling albums and singles, and even won an Oscar for another movie theme: "Let The River Run" from the Working Girl soundtrack (1988).
