Cea Serin

Cea Serin is a progressive metal and mercurial metal band that was formed in 1997 by bassist/singer/keyboardist J. Lamm. The name of the band is said to come from a made up origin by J. Lamm. The band's name is supposed to represent the band like a crest or a perfect definition for the musical sound, lyrical format, and philosophy of the band. Although in several interviews J. Lamm has jokingly made up a new definition the definitive definition is said to be "...I wanted a name that when people saw it they didn't know what to expect. So I had to come up with a name from my own mind, devoid of language and injected with the meaning that I exactly wanted for it. I would make up my own word and phrase and I would make it mean exactly what I want it to me. I name it, I define it. Just like there are some words in french or in German that don't have a word to correspond in English. There wasn't a word that meant exactly what I wanted it to mean. So I had to make it up.
