Chamillionaire formed rap group The Color Changin' Click with childhood friend Paul Wall and released Get Ya Mind Correct (2002) on an independent label. It managed to sell around 150,000 copies and, after a highly successful triple-CD mix-tape called Mixtape Messiah in 2004, Chamillionaire earned a major label deal with Universal Records. Debut album The Sound Of Revenge (2005) was a sleeper, receiving a huge boost several months after thanks to the release of second single "Ridin'" (featuring Krayzie Bone). It topped the Hot 100 and sold over three million ringtones, and eventually earned Chamillionaire his first Grammy for 'Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group'. Later in 2006 he also featured on Ciara's Top 10 hit "Get Up". The Sound Of Revenge was later certified platinum.
Chamillionaire's second major studio album Ultimate Victory was released in 2007. It hit No.8 on the Billboard album chart and was well reviewed by critics, but it has yet to yield a hit as successful or memorable as "Ridin'".
