Children of Bodom

Children of Bodom is a Finnish metal band formed in 1993. The current members are Alexi Laiho, Roope Latvala, Janne Wirman, Henkka Seppälä and Jaska Raatikainen.

They released a series of demos as IneartheD which fell into a pit of disinterest. Frustrated by their lack of success they had decided to self-release their debut, but once Something Wild (1997) was completed they found a supporter in Spinefarm Records. With their name changed to Children of Bodom, the album was released. While touring with Dimmo Borgir to support this new release they were approached by the Nuclear Blast label and secured a European release deal for the album.

The second album was Hatebreeder (1997). By now their touring credentials assured its place in the charts of many European countries. It was soon followed by Follow the Reaper in 2001 and Hate Crew Deathroll in 2003. With a joke cover of Britney Spears' "Oops…I Did It Again" filling in the gap, Children of Bodom went on to release it's most commercial and successful album to date in 2005's Are You Dead Yet?.

Their latest album, Blooddrunk was released in the spring of 2008 and promoted by appearances in Gigantour and a U.S. headlining tour in the Fall of 2008.
