Chimaira is an American metal band formed in 1998. The current members are Mark Hunter, Matt DeVries, Rob Arnold, Jim LaMarca, Andols Herrick and Chris Spicuzza.

The band were signed to Roadrunner Records in 2000 on the basis of their first EP This Present Darkness. They released their debut album Pass out of Existence a year later. Their next three albums (The Impossibility of Reason (2003), Chimaira (2005) and Resurrection (2007)) were increasingly successful, reaching No.117, No.74 and No.20 respectively.
