Billboard have been celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Hot 100 chart by compiling a bunch of other charts that span the whole half-century, including one which ranks the All-Time Hot 100 based on a complicated formula and weighting system. To account for changes in the way the chart was calculated in 1991, older songs were given more points for their chart stays because there was a quicker turnover before than there is now. In the final analysis, the all-time chart topper was "The Twist" by Chubby Checker, which is the only single ever to hit No.1 twice: in September 1960, then again in January 1962. In second place was "Smooth" by Santana featuring Rob Thomas, which topped the charts for twelve weeks in 1999; followed by Bobby Darin's 1959 version of "Mack The Knife". LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live" (1997) and Los Del Rio's "Macarena" (Bayside Boys Mix) (1996) round out the Top 5.
