Biography

Edit

The Circle Jerks is an American hardcore punk band formed in 1979. The current members are Keith Morris, Greg Hetson, Zander Schloss and Kevin Fitzgerald.

Morris was the founder, creating the band together with Hetson, Roger Rogerson and Lucky Lehrer after he left Black Flag. Their debut was Group Sex (1980); a mindblowing 14 songs on a 15 minute album. They followed this with 1981's Wild in the Streets and 1983's Golden Shower of Hits. By the fourth album Wonderful (1985) the band had lost Lehrer and Rogerson (replaced by Keith Clark and Zander Schloss) and had changed record label four times.

Fifth album IV was released in 1987 but in 1989 the band broke up. During the break-up Hetson continued to record and play with Bad Religion, a band with whom he had been associated throughout his time with Circle Jerks. But the band were back together by 1994. They released Oddities, Abnormalities and Curiosities in 1995, but not long after, Clark left music altogether, leaving the band as a trio Morris, Hetson and Schloss. Though they continue to tour, there has been no new album since 1995 - though rumours abound.
