Clay Walker is the US born, country music singer-songwriter with a string of platinum-selling albums to his credit.
Walker learned the guitar as a child, when he grew up he paid his dues, touring smaller venues throughout Texas, honing his skills. This was where he was 'discovered' playing in a club, by record producer James Stroud who got Walker a contract with Giant Records. Clay's self-titled debut album produced No.1s on the country charts with his first two singles "Live Until I Die" and "What's it to You?", another No.1 from the album, helped push it to platinum sales, a feat repeated by his next two albums.
In 1996 Clay was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which took him out of action for a year. He returned with his fourth album and had a No.1 with the title track "Rumor Has It", and another platinum disk to add to his collection. After two more gold-selling albums his subsequent releases have done moderately well.
