Cynic is an American progressive metal band which incorporates death metal and jazz fusion

elements, which was founded in Miami, Florida. Their first album, Focus released in 1993 (see 1993 in music), is widely regarded as a landmark release of the genre. The band released their second album on November 17, 2008. Traced in Air was released through French label Season of Mist.
