Biography

Edit

David Newman is an American film score composer best known for his work on comedy films. With his family background - his father Alfred Newman, brother Thomas Newman and cousin Randy Newman all work in the music industry - it was no surprise he should have looked towards music composition for a living.

The first work he scored was for a Tim Burton short film, Frankenweenie in 1984, but it was a collaboration with actor/director Danny DeVito, two years later, on Throw Momma from the Train which provided him with his big break. Since then he has scored more than 70 films, including, the Bill and Ted outings, Ice Age and other DeVito films.
