Adrenaline is the debut album by Deftones, released in 1995 through Maverick Records. The hidden track on the album, "Fist", was produced by Ross Robinson while the rest of album is produced by Terry Date. It was originally titled Communion and some promotional copies did get out, before Adrenaline became the name of choice. "Bored" and "7 Words" were released as singles. The album's cover art depicts a baby aspirator. The song "Engine No. 9" has been covered by Korn, Live, and Suicide Silence and is featured in the film Law Abiding Citizen.

4 stars "I want to be much more than more while I watch you"
A hardcore-sounding metal-punk-hip hop hybrid, I can't fathom why the Deftones were initially lumped together with bands like Korn (who call them their "brother band") - the 'tones are far more intense and original. And they are anything but generic trend-hopping rap-metal. The band has been doing this since 1989! I don't see why any fan of hardcore music would dislike the Deftones, especially Adrenaline. 3 stars The best was yet to come...
Although the Deftones are now one of the greatest metal bands in the world, they got off to a rocky start with the one-dimensional material on "Adrenaline". Most of the songs sound similar but there is quality there somewhere. If you like metal, e-mail me about a new, unsigned Scottish band called TAR, trust me, you will not be disappointed.
