Biography

Edit

Diamond Rio are an award-winning country fusion band who add bluegrass and rock ‘n’ roll into the mix. Originally called the Tennessee River Boys, they cut their teeth performing at Nashville’s Opryland, though they took the name Diamond Rio when they decided to take to the road in 1989.

Having secured a record deal with Arista, they released their self-titled debut in 1991. The album was taken to platinum sales thanks to a Country chart No.1 single “Meet in The Middle”. A string of Top 10 singles kept them at the top, and their follow-up album went gold.

Their subsequent career has been marked by Top 10 appearances in the Country singles charts, multiple awards from the Academy of Country Music, and an impressive, though yet unfulfilled, 13 nominations from the Grammys.
