Biography

Edit

Dierks Bentley was born in Phoenix in 1975, he is a country singer and guitarist known for his traditional style. Bentley went to college in Nashville to be closer to the music he loved. Working at the Nashville Network allowed him to study their archives of the great country performances and with this inspiration and his determination to succeed, he arranged the recording and release of his debut album Don't Leave Me In Love. The album brought him to the attention of Capitol Records who offered Bentley a record contract.

His first album for Capitol was Dierks Bentley, from which came the single "What Was I Thinkin'". The single was a huge success and helped the album go platinum. Part of Bentley's appeal is his connection to his fans, touring and playing small towns in the south, for which he has been described as a musical missionary. This strategy seems to be aorking for Bentley and his subsequent album releases have been even more successful, with top five positions on the Billboard 200.
