DJ Quik is a West Coast gangsta rapper and producer who has worked with a who's who list of hip-hop stars.

DJ Quik earned his early reputation with a series of mixtapes, which resulted in a record contract. He produced his debut Quik is the Name which went to platinum sales, helped by the singles "Tonite" and "Born and Raised in Compton". After three more gold-selling albums, followed by two less successful outings, he started his own label. Mad Science Recordings has been his home since the 2005 Trauma album. In tandem to his own career, he also worked as a producer for artists including 2pac and Snoop Dogg.
