A career as a policeman, just like his Dad, failed to inspire Eddie Money and he took his chance to become a rock singer. His eponymous debut album was released in 1977 and it reached a respectable No.37 on the charts, buoyed by the success of two of his most famous hits, “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise”. Subsequent albums fared well, with No Control (1982) spawning further hit singles, and Can’t Hold Back (1986) achieving platinum certification. Unfortunately the mores of the rock and roll lifestyle gripped him in the mid-80s but he beat his addictions and continued to hit the charts.
By the start of the 90s the public appetite for his brand of polished AOR was waning and his career began to slip. Nonetheless he has continued to release new material and tours still.
