The Marshall Mathers LP is the third studio album by American rapper, Eminem. Released May 23, 2000, the album sold more than 1.79 million copies in its first week just in the US, earning a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest selling solo album ever. In 2001, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and was nominated for Album of the Year. It has gone on to be certified 9x platinum by the RIAA in the United States and by 2009 had sold over 29 million units worldwide.

Often cited as Eminem's magnum opus, The Marshall Mathers LP has been ranked as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all-time by such magazines as Rolling Stone Time and XXL. Rolling Stone placed the album at #7 on its list of the best albums of the 2000s. The album was ranked #302 by Rolling Stone on their list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

5 stars Powerful and unbelievably good from start to finish
The release of The Marshall Mathers LP must have driven a whole bunch of Eminem-haters crazy because, with this second album, Eminem proved he was here to stay. In my opinion, this is the best of Eminem's first three albums, taking the rap and hip-hop up more than a few notches from the already lofty heights attained in The Slim Shady LP. 2 stars If you have the 2 disc import, this cd is almost worthless
Well, if you don't already know by now, 'The Marshall Mathers LP' is one of the best rap albums ever released, right up there with 'Ready to Die', 'DoggyStyle', 'Return to the 36 Chambers', 'The Chronic', 'Death Certificate', 'Here Come the Lords', 'Southernplayalistic..' and so on.

However, unlike the edited version of 'The Slim Shady LP' (with its excellent sound effect-laden version of 'Just Don't Give a F'), there's pretty much nothing here to warrant an edited purchase. I don't recall any …
