Enrique Iglesias is a Spanish singer-songwriter born in 1975.He started his musical career on the Mexican label [Fonovisa]. This helped turn him into one of the most popular artists in Latin America.He moved to America when he was eight years old and by the time he was at University he had released his first demos under the pseudonym Enrique Martínez. The demos resulted in his being signed to Fonovista and he released his first album Enrique Iglesias in 1995. The Spanish language album was very successful, selling more than a million copies in three months. His two subsequent Spanish language albums consolidated his success; he sold more than 17 million albums in three years and won a Grammy for Best Latin Performer.
He contributed the track "Bailamos" to the soundtrack for the film Wild Wild West and it reached No.1 in the charts in 1999. He was courted by the record labels and released his first English language album, Enrique, in 1999. The album featured a duet with Whitney Houston on "Could I Have This Kiss Forever". The album achieved at least gold certification in 32 countries. He followed this success with a second English language album, Escape, and then alternated with a Spanish then an English release over the course of the next two albums, Quizás (2002) and 7 (2003).
His most recent release was 2007's Insomniac, and his next album is expected to be a Spanish greatest hits compilation.
