Overview Edit

Take to the Skies is the debut studio album by Enter Shikari. On March 25, 2007, it reached #4 in the Official UK Album Chart selling 28,000 copies in its first week. It has been released as a standard CD, a limited CD + DVD edition and a double LP version (2 x 180grm 12" vinyl) with an embossed gate fold sleeve. The 12" vinyl edition is limited to 1000 copies and also contains the standard CD.

The Album reached worldwide sales of 250,000 copies and was certified Gold in the UK, after selling over 100,000 copies.

The album combines many of the songs that were featured on singles and EPs that were released in the years prior to the album's release. "Jonny Sniper" and "Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour" came from the band's second EP and previous release, Anything Can Happen In The Next Half Hour EP, and "Sorry, You're Not A Winner" and "Ok, Time For Plan B" came from the band's first EP, Sorry You're Not a Winner EP. They have all been rerecorded for the album. The single "Anything Can Happen in the Next Half Hour..." was the first single to be released from the album using the re-recordings.

After the release of the album in Europe, the band spent a long period of time finding a distributor, which they would need to release the album in North America. Finally they signed to Tiny Evil Records and the album was released on October 30.

5 stars Best album ever made
I first heard Enter Shikari off the game Maden NFL 08. I never expected them to become my favorite band. After i heard OK, Time for Plan B, i thought if i like one song i'll probably like more! I downloaded a few more songs and they were all masterpieces! Mothership, Enter Shikari, Sorry You're Not A Winner. I finally decided to buy the album. I stopped by a local record store and they dont carry Enter Shikari so i requested an order. I got the album and i listened to it all afternoon. I just lo…

3 stars Sorry, They're Not Winners
These newbies are apparently striving for a new brand of rocktronica, mixing hardcore and technical metal with rave-style keyboards and sequencers. This might sound good on paper, but execution is another matter. Rather than forming a sound of their own, Enter Shikari have only created an awkward mash-up of incompatible styles. The rock side of the band is perfectly competent, with a strong backdrop of technical riffs, pummeling time shifts, high-flying doomy passages, and even some Cure-like tr…
