Eurogliders had three distinct incarnations. First, as a Perth-based six piece that, with a few personnel changes along the way, recorded the albums Pink Suit Blue Day, This Island and Absolutely!
In their second incarnation, the band featured just two key members, Grace Knight (vocals) and Bernie Lynch (songwriting/guitars) and recorded one album, Groove. Thirdly and finally, the same pair reconvened in 2005 to record two albums; Eurogliders and Blue Kiss.
Eurogliders is best known for its 1984 hit Heaven (Must Be There) but had several other singles that charted well in Australia, including We Will Together, Can't Wait To See You and Groove.
The band will be remembered for taking some missteps during its career, potentially costing it more success. It was one of the first groups to openly embrace commercial relationships, first in an advertisement with jeans brand Faberge and the infamous subsequent "Tent Tour" with Wa Wa Nee. Then, when Lynch and Knight fired the remaining members of the band prior to recording of the Groove album, some of the public goodwill for Eurogliders evaporated.
The band will be remembered for a string of mid-80s hits that featured memorable hooks and sing-along choruses.
