Overview Edit

It's All in Your Head is Eve 6's third and last studio album before they were dropped from RCA Records and subsequently disbanded in 2004. It is considered an experimental album, which may explain the lackluster sales that led to the release from their RCA contract.

I was originally ambivalent about this disc - Horrorscope was one of my favorite albums, it always got me energized, and this CD certainly represented a break with the formula that I had loved on Eve 6's last CD.

Now, I can't listen to this album without singing along at the top of my lungs. The album is packed with serious emotional intensity the likes of which is really hard to find - my personal recommendations are "Arch Drive Goodbye," a gorgeous ballad, and "Bring the Night On" and "Hokis,…

3 stars Departure from the normal path
What's the best way to describe Eve 6's latest CD? To sum it up, it's a departure from the previous two CDs. It has a bit of a different feel to it, a slower, more depressing feel. Where Horrorscope had a few that weren't depressing, It's All In Your Head has none that aren't. There is a lot less guitar with distortion, and the acoustics have taken over about a fourth of the tracks. If you're looking for the faster and less depressing music of Eve 6, or the classic sound of Eve 6, steer clear.
