I bought the CD for 1.99 because my brother said he had heard their release, Cement, a few times and they sounded alright. I bought it and listened to it, and was amazed. A band I had never heard of played a variety of great pure rock songs(Tangerine, Cement, Radiation, Forgive) and some great soft rock songs(Suffocate, High) blended to gether in the form of an album that has stayed among my favorites ever since I bought it. The Feeder boys deserve more fans than they probably have now, but if they keep making albums like this, they should get more.

I was never a huge Feeder fan until 'Buck Rogers' was released in January 2001, however, even after buying the single my interest soon wore off. But, after seeing them live supporting Stereophonics (my favourite band) in November 2001, I realised just how amazing they are! I imediately went out and bought as much of their back-catalogue as possible and haven't regretted it!

'Polythene' is the bands first full-length album, released back in May 1997. It took me a while to get into this album as it's alot heavier then their more recent material and I'm not a huge fan of punk rock. But this album is not just loud guitars and screaching vocals like you might expect. If you give it a chance, you'll realise there is actually some really amazing songs underneath what at first appears to be nothing special. The singles 'Cement', 'Crash' and of course 'High' are great and the little known album tracks like 'Radiation', 'Change' and 'Forgive' really make this album shine. There is nothing really disappointing about this album and as a package its a great listen, but personally I tend to skip the likes of 'My Perfect Day' and 'Tangerine' as they are potential headaches. All in all this is a little listen, not the best debut but stick with it and it's true colours will shine through. It's one of those that grows on you over time.
