Foghat is a British blues-rock boogie band whose main success was during the 70s but who has endured to the present day. The debut eponymous album, released in 1972, was an immediate success amongst rock fans and even troubled the charts and set a formula for future releases which they barely varied. From the release of their second album, also called Foghat (1973) until Stone Blue (1978) Foghat achieved gold certified sales. Latter albums never quite captured their former glories and by 1983 they had split. Later reunions produced further studio and live albums and the occasional tour.
