Biography

Edit

Gang Gang Dance is an American experimental music band based in Manhattan, New York City, signed to the independent label 4AD. It has become well known within the New York indie scene for its distinctive sound. Gang Gang Dance has played shows with such bands as Sonic Youth, Spank Rock, Animal Collective, TV on the Radio and Battles.

In August 2008, the band conducted the Brooklyn chapter of 88 Boadrum. A month later, the fourth album, Saint Dymphna, was released to positive reviews. In 2010, the band received publishing royalties from British group Florence and The Machine. Members of Gang Gang Dance noticed that part of "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)" was lifted from their song "House Jam" and approached Florence and the Machine's label who acknowledged that infringement had occurred.
