Biography

Edit

Gomez is an award winning English indie rock band formed in 1996. The current members are Ian Ball, Ben Ottewell, Tom Gray, Paul Blackburn and Olly Peacock.

Their debut album was the Mercury Prize winning Bring It On in 1998 but it was not until the release of their second and third albums Liquid Skin (1999) and In Our Gun that they dented the American charts.

Their next outing Split the Difference created a positive buzz amongst critics but nonetheless the band were dropped by their label Virgin Records. This led to them signing with ATO Records, with whom they released the live album Out West in 2005 then How We Operate, a studio album, in 2006. Their last album hit No.1 on the US Heatseekers chart and since then the band have been touring the US in an effort to raise their profile.
